Search Engine Optimisation, or SEO, is what you do to make search engines like your website. When someone types a query, if Google thinks one of your pages matches it best, they'll put it at the top of the results.
We tend to say "Google" when we mean "Search Engine", but there are others. Google is by far the most popular, so that's where we focus our efforts. Optimisation done for Google can have a similar effect on other search engines.
Getting your web site onto search engines’ page 1 is usually a long-term project. You might be lucky and find that only the first stages of this process are necessary. Sadly, Murphy is usually in control and once you embark on an SEO project you will probably need to stick at it.

We use a staged SEO plan, with action lists tailored to each client. This helps keep costs down: you only pay for what you need. You can further reduce the cost by taking on some of the work.
Even so, the cost can prove too high for a small business. Our website clients can view our SEO Hints and Tips, which help you do it yourself. It's not that difficult if the conditions are right and we'll tell you if they are.
Everyone else can read our SEO Progress Blog, which plots our own ride to page one. It's not an easy ride for us because our competition is very strong, and we have some history that gets in the way. What history? Follow the Blog and all may be revealed!
